By lowering the building and maximising the roof space through the use of dormer windows, The Rookery achieves a second level whilst remaining consistent with the neighbouring context of single level cottages.

The ground floor contains an open plan living / kitchen space that dissects the building, opening out onto the front and rear gardens, utilising the south facing front garden to maximise light throughout the dwelling. This strong axis creates a flexible space that flows between inside and outside making the most of the active living areas.
