The 1870's stone cottage required a full refurbishment and extension to fit its young family's needs.
With a modest budget of £95,000, we set about transforming the cottage and adding a new family bathroom, utility room and master bedroom.
Using the existing fabric, we vaulted the ceiling within the modest kitchen, maximising natural light throughout the day and embracing the uninterrupted countryside views.
The choice of cladding to the extension is to allow it to be subservient to the main building whilst reflecting the agricultural buildings in the area. The location of the windows to the family bathroom and master bedroom have been carefully considered to provide uninterrupted views over the land, taking advantage of the privacy the owners enjoy.
