A modern family home in Wimbledon with a ground floor extension, loft conversion, and full internal refurbishment.
As project architect, George worked with a young family of five, who needed space for entertaining, relaxation, and for the children to play freely. An open-plan ground floor was essential to accommodate their busy lifestyle and enjoy quality family time.
The design features:
A large rear and side return extension, with an open-plan kitchen and island perfect for entertaining. The dining area opens to the garden and a courtyard with bench seating, creating seamless indoor-outdoor living.
A central courtyard with full-height glazing, floods the front of the house with natural light.
The rest of the ground floor is zoned, with a comfortable front living room for relaxation, and a casual dining area for the kids to work or play.
Relocating the staircase allowed for a more flexible space-saving layout.
The loft extension creates a master suite with a bedroom, bespoke wardrobes, and a luxurious en-suite. The en-suite features marble and walnut finishes, with a freestanding bath positioned under the roof lights.
