Replacement Manor House

A new house on the site of a destroyed, seventeenth century manor. The loss of the original manor had left a void within the core of the village, and the remaining farmland landscape lacked a central focus. The reinstated house is a traditional square plan arranged around a central top-lit hall. Stylistically, it relates to the original two storey, five bay property on the site, with a double-height, stone door surround at its centre. The selected materials are also sympathetic to the original manor. The house is set in formal landscaped grounds with extensive views to the farmland beyond.
