An extension and interal refurbishment to an Edwardian Rectory, this project sought to reference the existing character of the host house, whilst providing something clearly contemporary and designed for modern family life.
The proposals have received planning approval and are progressing towards going on-site, with a full technical and tender process recently completed.
The extension seeks to use the red brick of the main house with modern details such as soldier courses and a striking corner window facing the garden and distant views. Three glazed doors open up onto the terrace and pergola whilst another large picture window offers views down to the back of the plot.
Internally, the space flows into the kitchen and our work included full interior design services for the new extension, kitchen, utility and other ancillary spaces. The proposals were intended to be comtemporary but comfortable for family life, with simple, tactile surfaces and references to more traditional details.
