Our client, an art collector and her family, wanted a solution to their existing timber roof garden which over a very short period of time became unattractive and dark due to the timber staining and weathering badly.
We suggested using a white glass reinforced concrete which would both be bright and reflective and weather well over time.
Inspired by our clients and their intriguing art collections, we created for them an abstract tranquil landscape for reflection in white filled with light and with nothing but the changing skies above. Centrally, a single small Japanese Acer creates a bright colourful focal point alongside a laminated oak timber bench.
We designed a fold-away dining table which clips onto one of the walls when not in use and two sun-loungers double up as benches. A BBQ is discreetly tucked away behind a hidden door and a fire place gives warmth in the evenings.
