By excavating into the garden to create a stepped courtyard a new connection is formed between the internal and external spaces, allowing the lower ground floor living areas to be extended during the warmer months.

The clients, a gallery curator, and a journalist wanted a clean minimal space that would be durable and suited to a young growing family.

Integrated storage throughout creates defined areas for specific activities whilst retaining an open plan arrangement, with a robust palette of materials selected, including a stainless steel kitchen with a floating worktop.
