PORTO, PORTUGAL SWIMMING POOL

The architects designed & procured this new swimming pool and associated landscaping for an existing house near Porto in Portugal.

The pool was lined with a soft white membrane and surround with local natural granite. The small round compensation tank is a sculptural yet functional element that allows the pool to remain level with the patio at all times.

The refections from the sky along with the changing contrast of the wet/dry granite allow the pool and surrounding landscaping to naturally change with the environment and its activity. The layout of the pool and landscaping also connect for the exiting rounding buildings creating a focal point of interest as well external pathways.
