The project is to design a new house in the client’s farmland for the purpose of holiday house and eventually become permanent residency when retired. It was important to respect the existing house and a cowshed on site which were Irish traditional stone building when approach the project. In this regard, the scale and mass of the building was to be modest and follow the proportion of the existing buildings. The house is divided into two functions where narrow strip of solid part includes all the serving spaces such as kitchen and toilet, compared to open living space as served space.
