This complicated backland site development required careful strategic planning in order to address issues relating to overlooking and sunlight daylight. In order to remain subservient to the original corner building, a compact residential block is proposed that steps down along Grigg’s Place in proportion to the existing streetscape.
Comprising three storeys of new build accommodation with planted communal roof terrace, the proposal take reference from the industrial warehouses that are prevalent within the Borough.
This project is part of our Grange Road scheme Located in the Bermondsey Street Conservation Area in the London Borough of Southwark. The project proposes the redevelopment and extension of a former pub and adjoining courtyard to provide a mix of commercial space (3,800 sqft) and 1 & 2 bed residential units (3,000 sqft).
