The refurbishment of 14 Culford Mansions combines renovation of the original features alongside modern finishes and fittings to create and elegant and unique dwelling.
Our interest for ‘objet’s trouve’ came into focus during this project, whereby discarded cigarette boxes discovered during the strip out were repurposed and applied to the kitchen wall finishes. The boxes date back to the mid 19th century when the original mansion block was first constructed. Our intention was to provide a glimpse to the past and preserve the memory of the building.
The transformation saw the creation of 2 new bathrooms, new kitchen and utility along with the complete renovation of the apartment. Located on the first floor, new high quality conservation style windows replace the existing. High quality was the order of the day, to ensure a high standard of finish within the Sloane Square Conservation Area.
