Knowles Whittingham is an ARB and RIBA chartered practice lead by directors Katie Knowles and Frances Whittingham. Between us we have nearly 30 years of experience working in residential and small-scale commercial architecture and interiors.
Combined, we bring together a wide range of sector and project experience, whilst having distinct strengths as practicing architects that complement each other. We share a passion for design, but we are also practical, straight-talking architects. Our quality in design is achieved through collaborating closely with our clients, consultant teams, contractors and end users.
We offer architectural services which span all RIBA stages, from concept through to completion. We have substantial experience in delivering high-value and often complex construction projects on-site and thought the design stages. We have a reputable portfolio of successful planning applications including Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, Green Belt and AONB.
We are firm believers in light but clever design tweaks that change the way you experience the space and believe that good design doesn’t need to be expensive and we often look at the no build option during the initial feasibility. We want to produce beautiful, considered, and subtle architecture though environmental retrofits rather than have a knock it down attitude. Finding innovative and sustainable ways to work with existing buildings is a key goal of ours.
